Kathryn Shane McCarty is co-president of ADR Vantage, Inc. and has guided its business development with the government sector since the firm was founded in 1993. Kathryn has managed complex organizational processes for more than 25 years as both a consultant and manager. She specializes in facilitation, organizational development, team building, management training, and conflict management. She is a Virginia certified mediator and mediator mentor and certified facilitator. Kathryn is frequently asked by clients to develop interactive training on communication, negotiation, conflict management, performance management, and team development topics. She also serves as an executive coach for both public and private sector clients.
As an organizational development consultant, Kathryn often facilitates staff retreats, change management processes, and team development sessions for clients. She is currently involved in an extensive change management process within a large county government department. She serves as the lead contact person for the firm's IT Leadership and Team Development efforts.
Kathryn has worked with more than 25 Federal agencies to support their organizational development, change management and conflict resolution initiatives. She routinely mediates workplace and EEO disputes between individual employees and within work units throughout the government sector. She also consults with ADR program coordinators on designing ADR approaches for implementation within work unit. Additionally, Kathryn trains mediators through the Northern Virginia Mediation Service, which is a community-based program affiliated with George Mason University.
Kathryn holds a Masters degree in Management and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. As a continuous learner, Kathryn routinely continues her education and has become certified as mediator mentor and facilitator. Kathryn is certified to administer a number of assessment tools, including the Implications Wheel, and Apter International's motivational and leadership style assessments. Now she is working on a certificate in executive coaching.
